Description
Whether graduating from the 6-9 group, or entering the Academy at the age of 10, this class is a more in depth look into the training. Here the students will take part in a variety of acting and social based activities and games, focused on detaching their self-conscious habits, empowering them with confidence and freeing their imagination. Each week, month and year, new exercises and techniques will be introduced as the student grows, enhances their skills and adds to their repertoire.
In doing so, the students will be introduced to the notion of a performance in terms of characterization and the study of behavior and how to use their voice, body and movement on stage. The students will also be lightly introduced to breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation, helping them to center themselves on stage and in other situations in life. Month after month, the class would become a community, welcoming in new students and expanding the group so as to form a strong and supportive team of young artists, exploring fun games, light acting exercises and performing monologues.
At the end of each class, the students will prepare and rehearse a monologue given to them at the beginning of each month. On the last class of every month, these monologues will be performed in front of the parents (cheers, claps and motivation for the young and courageous students are more than welcome!)
Note: If the young student does not wish to perform the monologue in front of everyone, this is not a problem! We are more than happy to schedule the poem to be performed in front of Gabriele with the parents in private after the performances or on a later date. As time goes by and the young student will participate to the monthly courses, he will then hopefully want to participate in the end of month performance in front of everyone. We are not here to push the students to do anything out of their comfort zone, but rather to help them build the comfort and relaxation to eventually do so…in their own time, with ease and a positive attitude and outlook onto the future.
Disclaimer:
Please note that as a professional and working actor, there may be instances where Gabriele is called away to film projects overseas. In such cases, substitute acting coaches will be arranged to conduct classes. Rest assured, parents and students will be promptly notified via email about any temporary changes in coaching personnel. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility in these situations.
