The Courses

courses For children, young adults and adults

The Academy’s courses are 90-minute weekly classes throughout the year, separated into 4 age groups.

The first being the ‘6-9’, where we aim to introduce to children the concept of creative work and acting together as a unity. Throughout the course the young creatives will work and play together, helping them find their ease in expressing themselves with the support of each other. In the middle of and at the end of every trimester the children will have the chance to enact a poem on camera helping them perform recurrently and find their comfort on stage and in public. The parents are welcomed to be present at the session. The recording will then be uploaded online for the students and parents to see.

The ‘10-13’ group aims to offer an advanced and in-depth progression of the course. The students will begin to adapt to new acting techniques as they develop their craft, cultivate their artistry and strengthen their cooperative work as a team through exercises, games and performances. In the middle of and at the end of every trimester, the students will enact a monologue on camera, giving them a chance to perform recurrently and consolidate their comfort on stage, in front of camera and in public. The parents are welcomed to be present at the session. The recording will then be uploaded online for the students and parents to see.

The ‘14-18’ group serves as the final step for the young artists as they now enter their formative years. Applying various methods, perfected over the years by coaches and experts, the students will grow together and enhance their understanding of human behavior, film and stage as they collaborate week by week. The course aims to integrate, refine and boost their knowledge of the craft and its techniques in order to stage their filmed duologue shows in the middle of and at the end of every trimester. The parents are welcomed to be present at the session. The recording will then be uploaded online for the students and parents to see.

The Masterclass offers continuous and thorough training for all adults aged 18+. In these sessions, the participants will refine their craft week by week and form a community throughout the year, allowing for the advanced techniques to purposefully aid them in daily events or in order to pursue an acting career. Using techniques such as Meisner, improv and script analysis, the participants will perform in the middle of and at the end of every trimester where they will put to test their acting chops and film a duologue scene with the help of a professional videographer. Friends and family are welcomed to be present at the session. The recording will then be uploaded online for the students and friends to see.

The 1-hour Private sessions offers an in-depth look at all the techniques and personal work that goes into the acting classes, including breath work, voice, movement, meditation, script analysis, 10 step process, improv, Meisner technique and more. This can be booked by an individual or group sessions.

All classes will be taught in English

Location:
45 Avenue de Grande Bretagne, Monaco, 98000 (Trocadero)

Age group: 6-9

This class is specifically aimed at introducing the students to the concept of working together as a group and bonding over acting exercises.

The objective is to have the young children participate in fun and specific team/individual games in order to get in touch with their creative self as a means to help them get over stage or social freight. Each week, month and year, new exercises and techniques will be introduced as the student grows and enhances their skills and adds to their repertoire.

As the students keep participating every trimester, they will gradually become a community, welcoming in new students and expanding the group so as to form a strong and supportive team of young artists, exploring fun games, light acting exercises and performing poems.

At the end of each class, the students will prepare and rehearse a poem given to them at the beginning of each trimester. On the last class of every program, these poems will be performed on camera and in front of parents who wish to attend (cheers, claps and motivation for the young and courageous students are more than welcome!)

Note: If the student does not wish to perform the poem on the day, this is not a problem! We are more than happy to schedule the poem to be performed in front of Gabriele with the parents in private after the performances or on a later date. As time goes by and the young student will continually participate to trimester-based courses, he/she will then hopefully want to participate in the end of program performance in front of everyone.

We are not here to push the students to do anything out of their comfort zone, but rather to help them build the comfort and relaxation to eventually do so…in their own time, with ease and a positive attitude and outlook onto the future.

Disclaimer:

Please note that as a professional and working actor, there may be instances where Gabriele is called away to film projects overseas. In such cases, substitute acting coaches will be arranged to conduct classes. Rest assured, parents and students will be promptly notified via email about any temporary changes in coaching personnel. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility in these situations.

Age group: 10-13

Whether graduating from the 6-9 group, or entering the Academy at the age of 10, this class is a more in depth look into the training. Here the students will take part in a variety of acting and social based activities and games, focused on detaching their self-conscious habits, empowering them with confidence and freeing their imagination. Each week, month and year, new exercises and techniques will be introduced as the student grows, enhances their skills and adds to their repertoire.

In doing so, the students will be introduced to the notion of a performance in terms of characterization and the study of behavior and how to use their voice, body and movement on stage. The students will also be lightly introduced to breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation, helping them to center themselves on stage and in other situations in life.

As the students keep participating to every trimester, they will gradually become a community, welcoming in new students and expanding the group so as to form a strong and supportive team of young artists, exploring fun games, light acting exercises and performing monologues.

At the end of each class, the students will prepare and rehearse a monologue or duologue given to them at the beginning of each trimester (and another one mid-trimester) exploring the intricacies of acting alone on stage or together with a partner. The students will have a chance to perform their first script mid-trimester, and again another script on the last class of every trimester, ultimately having the chance to work on two different scripts. These monologues or duologues will be performed on camera and in front of the parents who wish to attend (cheers, claps and motivation for the young and courageous students are more than welcome!)

Note: If the student does not wish to perform the monologue on the day, this is not a problem! We are more than happy to schedule the poem to be performed in front of Gabriele with the parents in private after the performances or on a later date. As time goes by and the young student will participate to the trimester-based courses, he/she will then hopefully want to participate in the end of program performance in front of everyone.

Age group: 14-18

The Masterclass is composed of any adult over the of 18, willing to learn, brush up or further their expertise into acting and what the acting training can bring to their daily work or routine.

In this class, adults will fully delve into improvisation classes, Meisner technique, voice, movement and in-depth analysis of film scenes. The participants will evolve into fully creating and understanding how to form a character in film using the Academy’s 10-step process to analyze a script and bring a character to life. These guidelines will serve as a backbone to preparing for film and theater but can also be used as a preparative technique for any kind of event in life. One of the important steps of the groundwork of acting is that it is a study of life and oneself and not only for performance-based work.

The masterclass aims to become a community, welcoming in new participants and expanding the group so as to form a strong and supportive team of artists, exploring their curiosity of acting and allowing the techniques learned in the classes to help them to ‘let go’ and embrace their full potential.

Along with the various exercises, games and methods, the Masterclass will also use relaxation exercises such as bioenergetic work, mediation and breathwork to fine tune their ‘instrument’ and them to find their center in any given moment of their daily life, in the office, at home or on stage/screen.

At the beginning of each trimester, the adults will pair with one another and work on a duologue, finally preparing and performing a scene and exploring the intricacies of acting together. The adults will have a chance to perform a duologue mid trimester, and another one on the last class of every trimester. These scenes will be performed on camera and in front of family and friends who wish to attend.

Note: If the either participant doesn’t want to / can’t perform theirs on the day, there is no problem at all!

Please let us know in advance or on the day and we can reschedule it to be shot in private on a different day. If you wish your work to remain private, it will remain as such.

One Week Intensive Courses

The 1-week Intensive Course is refined and dedicated to the students who are eager and willing to keep nurturing and practicing their skillset even during the holidays. These 1-week courses will be a more in depth set of classes, taking place 3 times a week for all age groups. Just like the trimester-based courses, the intensive course will conclude with a showing of their work (monologues for the 6-9,10-13, duologues for the 14-18 and Masterclass).

All groups will have a more in depth and focused extension to the work and have a chance to prepare at a rhythm more suited to theatre and film. Having to prepare for their shows in a smaller timeframe, with a more consistent and recurring set of classes and exercises will give them a unique experience in fully immersing themselves into the acting process and elaborate on their artistry.

We will focus on substantial amount of work, further breath/body and voice work, scene analysis, mediation, Meisner, improv and many more exercises to get the students at the advanced level they want and reach a meticulous approach for their performances, group work and inner work.

A recurrent dedication to the practices and going up to perform is essential for the students to find their power and strength within the techniques and experience. The 1-week intensive course allows a special opportunity to get a head start on the following trimester-based installation for those artists who are willing to really delve deeper into the work.

For All Groups:

Note: If the young student does not wish to perform the monologue in front of everyone, this is not a problem! We are more than happy to schedule the poem to be performed in front of Gabriele with the parents in private after the performances or on a later date.
